Help us send a child to Camp

Every child deserves the chance to connect with the natural world—not just to see it, but to understand it, respect it, and ultimately protect it. Our Chapter is looking for financial support to send one child to the New York State Trout Unlimited Trout Waters Youth Camp being held at Camp Amahami in Deposit NY in June 2026. The cost of youth camp is $800.

This week long camp is offered to youths aged 14-17. It provides teens a chance to learn about fly fishing basics. Lessons are presented on fly tying, fly fishing, entomology, ecology and conservation. Each evening the campers will have one on one stream fishing experiences with a veteran Delaware River Angler.  Presenters each day includes top guides, fly tiers and authors in the Catskill area. Campers get to experience fly fishing for wild trout in the Catskills, the birthplace of american fly fishing. 

Trout Waters Youth Flyfishing Camp is more than just a summer experience. It’s a place where young people learn patience, responsibility, and the delicate balance of our ecosystems. Through hands-on time in rivers and streams, they discover how clean water supports life, how fragile these environments can be, and how each of us plays a role in preserving them.

Today’s children are tomorrow’s stewards. If we want healthy rivers, thriving wildlife, and clean water for generations to come, we must invest in those who will carry that responsibility forward. Camps like this don’t just teach flyfishing—they inspire lifelong conservationists.
